Embrace the chaos of life with Mona Matsuoka’s debut eyewear collection

It can be a summer-long pursuit trying to find your next perfect set of shades. Endless pairs are picked up and quickly discarded because they’re just not quite right. Well, search no more. Thankfully, New York’s endless mix of cultures, scenes and identities have inspired a new eyewear collaboration between Vooglam and model, DJ, and artist, Mona Matsuoka.

Launching 28 July, Collision is a six-look capsule collection that fuses the DJ’s Japanese-American heritage, fashion background, and connection to New York nightlife. She spent years walking the runway for major fashion houses, including Chanel and Dior.

Taking inspiration from the cities that have shaped her journey, each frame is named after a place connected to Matsuoka’s personal history. The collection moves between futuristic silhouettes and everyday designs, with each style created to transition from daytime dressing to nighttime looks.

Suzuka is the collection’s boldest statement frame, with a one-piece shield silhouette and wraparound shape that leans into a sporty, futuristic feel. Finished with a liquid-metal ‘M’ logo, the design adds a subtle nod to the collaboration while keeping the focus on its sleek, oversized form. Available in pearlescent black, dark grey gradient and silver mirrored lenses.

All looks in the collection are available in both sunglasses and optical styles. With 19 colour options, tinted lenses, and metallic finishes, there’s something for even the most picky sunglasses buyer.

The Vooglam x Mona Matsuoka Collision collection launches 28 July and will be available at Vooglam.com, with prices ranging from £75–£120.
